I'll try to make the 11th. If all goes according to plan, I'll be closing on my first house on the 7th and moving in on the 14th! It might be a little busy for me

If the 11th doesn't work out though, we could possibly do my new place later that month or February. I already have a firepit planned...and have claimed the garage as my own. There would be tons of room to set up some tables. I might even have my workshop set up by then so we could grind a couple of razors or what have you.

    Probably a better option.

Do we still have an interest in organizing a San Antonio/Austin/Corpus meet?

I can understand some of our newer bretheren itching for a meet. Lots to learn and fun to share.
Consider this. It is absolutely necessary for a successful meet of any size to have some senior members who have the experience and skills to share with newer ones. All facets of shaving equipment should avail itself for perusal and discussion. Long-established technique can be shared as well as some newer ones. I would not be interested in attending a meet where I could not learn much (nor would anyone with more experience, I feel), or be instructed by newer members who think they have a "better way" to do things.
No offence to anyone, but we should strive to have a good mix and a good space for it.
I have set up about 250 sq feet of table space in the past and more could have been used. To make the day longer and more productive, some good food is necessary.
Door prizes for all is a good thing. Some provided by myself and by others and perhaps getting some vendors here to pitch in with a few in that regard. Having a couple of (noted) custom makers in attendance last year was a big hit of the meet. Trading and sharing are big fun too. In a larger space, several things can be going on at once.
Also, it has been nice for some to bring along their spouses, girfriends, or a friend to share their shaving interests with. I like larger meets which are somewhat organized so that all may reap benefits from it. Sure, we can bring, share, smoke some stogies, plenty of ventilation! A big thing is seating for all in a few spaces for sharing and eating. Lots of guys like to bring some cool firearms to display along with their kit and collection. Positively some designer beers and some common suds and sodas are brought and shared. Yes, some may have to travel, take a day off work, etc. Sacrifices will and should be made!
Quite an expense and chore on my part to do it like this. But it's the way I do it and I feel it works best.
I would be happy to have a meet in March if the numbers are committed to bring a successful meet to fruition. OR, I could take a break from it! It is much like Charlie said previously. Like herding cats!
That is why I contend much of this thread is indeed herding cats. It works well, however, as everyone gets like-minded. It does happen! OR not! It is up to the Texas guys.

Let's have a good one! We can start early, around noonish and go as long as you like! Razors, hones, brushes, soaps, firearms, brisket and sausage! Only in Texas!
Maybe you should try to make it to MidMo 2014

    Yes, That's a possibility!

Unsure of your meaning in your post?
You are not classified as bad, just uninformed! As you should know, shooting is fine, within a local range. We have several. I am unawares of gunfire at the Mid-Mo meet? Unless at a range a ways from Lynn's house?
Facts! No shooting is allowed at my business, unless I do it!
Not so much organizing a gun shoot, but a razor meet here! Nice that some go and pop off a few. We have our own programs to deal with that here. This meet is about razors! You Okies are surely welcome!
    Thanks!
