Sorry to hear this - I had the same problem but was fortunate enough to have come a day early by mistake, and then my OCD kicked in as I sat in a parked car looking up the prior posts on this thread with my phone to find a better location than the address - you can see I posted the pic above just before your post.

Really sorry I didn't post it earlier - but now you know for next time. Maybe we'll start a new thread for the next one so directions are easier to find for those of us new to the location.

Go 49ers. Everyone else eat it...LOL
52 straights with 2 weeks of shaving? That has got to be some kind of RAD record!

At our recent meet and greet in NJ, in addition to having a chance to meet fellow STR8 shaving enthusiasts (gentlemen all), I had the opportunity to have my Friodur looked at by some of the honemeisters in attendance. Jeff, Bill, and Birnando huddled over it and determined that despite the vendor’s purporting it to be shave ready, it, in fact had a bevel that wasn’t set properly. Enter Bill and his magic hands and hones.

He reset the bevel, and then honed it using a progression of hones and J Nats to a smooth, uniform edge.

Needless to say I couldn’t wait to use it. Imagine my exquisite frustration when I didn’t have time for a STR8 razor shave on Monday (had to rush off to my office very early in the morning so enter my trusty DE), and I had to wait until Tuesday to give it a go. All I can say is WOW. Prior to Bill’s ministrations, it shaved, but nothing to write home about. After…well, there aren’t enough o’s in smooth to describe it.

Thanks again Bill, and thanks to all of the senior guys who graciously, and expertly shared their time, knowledge, and skills with us noobs.

Heck, all you had to do was ask. I would have been willing to part with almost any razor I brought with me. Though not my Friodurs!

Thanks. I'm happy you got a good shave.

You're on! Would you accept a third party, out-of-state check as payment?

I came looking to make a deal - so I asked pretty much everyone who had razors out...except whoever had that beautiful alligator skin cased collection, which seemed to have just about every custom I could want...next time...
