Thanked: 0Hey Guys, Are there any other meets planned?
I've been trying to find someone that would be able to hone my razor.
It has the slightest nick (hardly visible, but its scratching my strop)
Emailed classic edge with no response

Where are you located, Steve?

Don't take this the wrong way, but....
While razors to get honed at meets (usually free of change, because that's the spirit of meets), attending a meet is not just about getting your razors honed. If you are interested in honing services, check the member services section of the classifieds.

Thanked: 0Im in etobicoke.
I just got into wet shaving with a straight edge. Prior to this I was a disposal razor and canned "foam" shaver.
Id like to learn all I can.... including how to hone and sharpen my blade

Thanked: 0It's a entry level Dovo Solingen.
Looking through the site it seems like most people recommend not honing your own razor without training. It's something i would still like to learn, both for my razor and kitchen knives.
Seems like i would need a low grit (1000-2000) stone, a norton 4000/8000, and possibly a 12k grit stone to cover all the bases?

Most guys send their razors out for honing at least until their totally comfortable with shaving stropping ect.
There is a pile of threads containing information about which hones to buy. Try the search function and you will be amazed!
