Thanked: 114Thanks, Alan, for another great event. You sure know how to rock those rocks. I had a fun time last night --- as always.
It was cool to see guys make their own scales. Thanks, Reony, for posting pictures of yours. Hats off to you for having the stamina to see the scales all the way through to the end – they look fantastic! I’d love to see pictures of your final product as well, Storsven. Those bloodwood scales sure looked sweet.
Special thanks goes out to Storsven for bringing the kerosene heater, providing the yummy chicken wings, and for enduring all the “help” offered by my children all night.
Let’s get together again soon, guys.

I will post pictures of my new bloodwood scales as soon as I am done finishing them. Everything suggests they will be really nice! Thanks for your generous advice and everything!
Tell your daughter the scales would never have looked that good without her help! And without your son's expert fire fighter skills we would all have gone deaf!

Here is the final result of my first scale manufacturing. Bloodwood blanks and assistance kindly provided by diyguy last Sunday. It ended up with about 10 coats of Tru-Oil. Thanks again! Slightly clunk but nice and light to hold. Now off to the hones!

See this is the balancing trick I'm talking about. How do you balance your razor like that for the photo??
Very nice BTW!
