Thread: Northern Virginia Get Together with AFDavis11 – January 27th

Hello everyone. It’s time again for another Northern Virginia get together with Alan Davis.

Just like the last few times, the plan is to hang out in my garage restoring razors, making custom scales, or whatever you guys feel like.

As before, the intent is for the meeting to be hands on. So, bring your project razors! I have plenty of razors in my “to be restored” pile that everyone is entirely welcome to play with, by all means, but you will have a thousand times more fun working on your very own razors. I have supplies to make new scales too, if anyone wants to make some custom scales. John made a beautiful set last time.

And, of course, Alan and other honing gurus will be present to sharpen razors and share honing tips as well.

We’ve scheduled the get together for Sunday, January 27th, from 3pm to whenever. All are welcome to join. If interested, please contact Alan or myself.

OMG I'm so excited. Finally!!

I'll have to bring my old Sheffield I got for $25. I would love to put new scales on ideally, or at least tighten the darn pin. The blade also seems like it has some really old spots or even rust on it. Not sure, can't tell. I was going to actually send my razor to someone in Member Services to get G10 scales and polish the blade. But I guess I can hold out on that if I can do that.

And I can bring my new Zulu Grey hone (and a few things that could be sharper) and a couple that need scales.

I'll have to check my wife's work schedule and see if I can make it up.

It's going on my schedule. I don't know if SWMBO will go for it, based on my going to the NYC meetup this weekend, but I'm going to give it my best!

The beauty of this site is the friendships you make around the world. Birnando is in town from Oslo, Norway and attending. How could I not go myself?
