The meet was great, it was lots of fun to see old friends and to make new friends.
Sham is a fantastic host, cook, and teacher. I learned, ate, and felt at home.
Ray, thank you for feeding us, I am still thinking about that pulled pork.
Here is a link to some of the pictures I took on Photobucket, I will post some to the forum when I get home.

Thanks for the pictures Charlie, Randy,Sham. For those who asked, I am including a couple pictures of the tool to use to shred 30+ lbs. of pork butt in under 2 minutes. Doesn't get any better than this. BBQ and power tools!!

Allow me to first say hello to this forum. I just joined up after meeting everyone this weekend.
Secondly, Sham, thanks for the simply amazing hospitality. One could not have asked for a better host and a better time.
Thirdly, it was amazing to meet everyone and enjoyed all of your company. I was blown away by the knowledge, experience, and generosity shown by the group that gathered. I came as a DE shaver, but now feel much more comfortable with my straight. I even left with a great new piece of steel and the ability to care for it.
Again, thanks to everyone for an amazing weekend. My wife and I are looking at the calendar in April to host a meet here

Hey TaranStone, Thanks for coming!!
Tried the soap that you gave me a sample of.
Amazing, awesome, a fine soap. It is truly an artisan soap.
Loved it and can't live life without being able to acquire some!!
Can you please ask to see if some could be had.
Thanks for coming to meet and participating, we enjoyed having you there.
Also Zac, awesome job on the problem blade. Shaves like a dream!! Enjoyed spending the weekend with you!!

Ray
I will pass that on to my soap making friend. The batch she made today is of a different formula; she is trying the addition of rice bran oil as a substitute for lanolin.
I spoke earlier to her, and she was saying that she can get a batch ready with a week's lead time. I'll let her know to get one of that original batch together.

Gentlemen,
The gathering in Kansas City was an extraordinary experience.
I met a group of gentlemen who were gracious with their friendship and sharing of knowledge, all framed in easy conversation and roaring laughter — and enhanced by Sham's feisty vodka.
To watch Lynn and Sham and Randy hone straight razors is the greatest schooling anyone who loves the straight razor can have. Of course, all three also have been my straight razor and honing teachers — and that is my PhD in the art. I love these three noble men. That they are also my friends makes my life all the richer.
Then there was our host, the great Sham. Generous, gracious and giving exemplify this extraordinary human being. Sham opened his home to us and his heart. Indeed, Sham is a true prince.

Thanks for posting pictures. My weekend kind of fell apart and I wasn't able to make it. Looks like an amazing time, though, and a wealth of knowledge, camaraderie, and hardware. I look forward to being a bit more ahead of the ball when the next one rolls around!

Thank you to everyone for a great experience. Sham's hospitality was "perfect" and I thank him for the edge on my razor. Ray's food was delicious. Lynn's spirit was invigorating and his generosity was greatly appreciated. Randy gets a special thanks for co-ordinating and keeping things going. It was great to meet and talk to everyone there.
This was my first meet-up and I didn't have much free time, but I'm very glad to have been there. You all are a great bunch of guys. All so very generous with everything. Especially the time to help the less experienced razor enthusiasts. I'm so glad to have been included. Thanks again.

Thanked: 9I want to thank Sham for hosting and taking care of us in a grand fashion, and thanks to everyone at the meet for being friendly and even though it was my first meet with these guys I was treated like one of the gang. The food was great, Vodka awesome. Any questions I had I got at least one answer and sometimes many. Couldn't ask for a better group to spend my weekend with. Sorry I didn't get to get involved in the evening activities. I will next time for sure. Randy, many many thanks for the honing lesson. Yes, that old dubl duck shaved well. You are so patient.
