Thanked: 26I have used a straight on head and face for a while, but after twice catching the back of my head (once quite tastily) i went back to safety razors for my head. I have just acquired a new toy for this purpose, a Headblade ATX scalp blade, only used it once, but it makes short work of my head and was really swift.

I'm assuming you are using a DE. But what are you using? For me I use a straight for both my face and head, and the same blade for both. But my edges get dull pretty quick from my head shave so until I get my technique and edges dialed in to where I like them I am probably going to use my straight for my face and my feather DX shavette for my head.

Thanked: 1587When I started I'd use one razor on my face and another on my head. Now I just give my razor a good stropping after my face and use it for my head too.

My head is very easy to do with a Mach3 in the shower. I take a Williams mug bar and rub in on and make some lather with my hand. The skin is tight and its easy to just feel my way around.
My face, however, is only touched by my straights and a variety of higher end soaps that I enjoy. That is my slow zen-like relaxation time to pamper myself.
