I have done about 10 shaves total, and it is getting better with each one. Still a ways to go.

I've fallen into a pretty good routine now with my head-shaving.

I'll have good, luxurious, three-pass head-shave weekly with my trusty W+B and then top it up throughout the week with my granddad's DE (heirloom Gillette) as required. If I forget/am-too-lazy to DE my head, the straight takes off any rangy bristles with ease at the end of the week.

I still shave my face every second day, so, unless this changes, I'll probably keep to this regimen for a while.

Just like face-shaving. It gets easier. I'm not quite at the stage of breezing through it like I do a face-shave (mind you, there's something to be said for taking your time and enjoying a good shave), but it's a lot smoother going over my head than it was when I started (in both senses of the word).

It's still a work in progress, I got a few new razors and the 7/8ths seem better on the head. Behind the ears still a slow process, but no cuts and smooth.

Recently tried shaving my head with a SR, but it was time consuming. Felt like the blade kept catching on my skin (angle?). Tried shaving with a DE and got 3 good nicks.

It's a skill I have yet to master. I am wondering if you ever do shaving the head with a straight razor. I do know the top side of my head seem to get the nicks more than the back. Since I have been shaving my head for a few years with a cartridge, the shaving with a mirror wasn't the issue, but more than angle. Shaving my face has gotten much better since I started shaving with a straight razor, but shaving my head has a ways to catch up.

This was my first experience also. I found it much quicker with the DE & I do my face while I'm at it.
I might revisit the SR for head shaving but only when I have a lot of time on my hands.

I still find it more time-consuming than my usual face shave, that's for sure (I shaved the dome again today with my W+B; still took about 45 min.).
I've pretty much got the angle and minutiae down, I think.

I flip the razor and use the opposite hand to get behind the ears on my first pass, then pull the ear forwards and run the edge towards the back of my head from the base of the ear on my second.
When I started, I would ask my partner to check the back of my head afterwards to make sure I hadn't missed anything. With two and sometimes three passes, I'm no longer missing any patches on the back of my head or behind the ears.

The angle needs constant adjustment and I find I'm much more conscious of it than I am when shaving the face, simply because of the curve of the cranium.

    I wish you luck, gents!

I shave my hair during summer since I began SR use. As you said, it's just like combing. No necessity to look, you have to feel.

Here with my bro, two SR head shavers

Looks terrifying! Seriously. I may have to return my new-found "Man Card" I received since starting to use a straight razor.

I've been shaving my head since 2003 and would like to do it without disposables or the electric. Do they make a curved straight razor for the head like Vin Diesel used in "Pitch Black"?
