Yes, you can find tamahagane sake or chocolate for example.
But when it comes to steel, the production and distribution is heavily regulated by the Japanese government and only the steel produced with the traditional method can use the name Tamahagane and be stamped with 玉鋼 in kanji“Truth is not what you want it to be; it is what it is. Like all mines and quarries the Nakayama mine produced stones of different qualities. So Yamashita used to have Nakayamas on his site for polishing razors and Nakayamas for sharpening chisels. So a Nakayama that is unsuitable to polish a razor isn't necessarily a bad Nakayama of a fake one.
