Thread: Learning on coticule?

Had my second shave with the coticule edge this morning. BBS after 3 passes and no touch ups at all. Since it is a new razor to me, I haven't quite figured out its personality yet and it bit me pretty good on the upper lip!

Thanked: 24Let me guess, going across your lip not far from the corner of your mouth. They don't all grow in the same direction in places. Ouch.

Honed my second razor yesterday on the coticule with the unicot method. Shaved with it this morning, and another BBS shave. Can't believe I'm getting this to work 2 for 2! Must have gotten lucky and gotten a great stone. Did a third tonight on the cot and will try it out tomorrow morning...wish me luck.
I also took the one I shaved with this morning that worked great and gave it 150 laps water only on my Zulu grey. Will see if that improves the shave or if I ruined that one! Haven't had luck with the Zulu up to this point.Classic, traditional Barber and owner at Barber's Notch in Brigham City, Utah.

All I've been using is the unicot method. Since it works, I don't want to mess with success. I'm happy with the results from that method the couple times I've used it.
