    These Pigtails often look like a Figure 8 when done fast... Possibly what you saw John ???

    This looks like what he showed me & so does the 2nd video that Razorfaust posted.

    both videos were done on a large hone, his razor hone is hand size 5" ,,, so it was a bit difficult to take it all in when he was doing it.

    I've seen this figure 8 honing diagram. I will take photo of it and post before next weekend. My barber friend showed me the book from barber college.
    Hes been a barber since 1964.
    He still uses the hone. Cant talk him out of it[emoji1]

    His hone is palm sized as well.
    Most of his razors are wore heavily on the toe.
    How long it takes to wear out a razor for him. I dont know.Name:  uploadfromtaptalk1433719990066.jpg

    Thanks but credit for digging up those videos should go to RusenBG he posted them on another forum. I just remembered and said to myself " Self I know I saw what Hirlau was talking about somewhere AHA! I know" Then posted em here Im glad you liked them in the end strip away the style essentially its just an x stroke more or less.

    And won't thin out the toe of the razor or the WHOLE spine. Thats what i see in the videos, and watching the barber.
    They ARE honing the WHOLE razor
