Thanked: 55Having done some more searching, can get the thinner stones from a different site and for just a little more can get both 8000 and 12000. Would there be any reason not to bond them back to back or to a piece of wood?

Thanked: 60The Naniwa SS 8k I had, no longer in my possession, was yellow. I don't like to glue stones. I buy the thicker versions if available. If you ever chip one side you can just flip it over and use the other side. Gluing prohibits that. Again that is a YMMV thing.
