Number 3 from right first row, the one with the slurry stone, is very fast one. I exchanged it with another hone and the old owner didn't like it, since it's not a finisher. It's rather from 3-7k.

Never said that I didn't like it it's an amazing stone.

These are all coticules? The Trapezoid one on the lower left looks like a thuringian or charnle forest.

Most likely the hybrid side of a Les Latneuses coticule:

No it's just worn and old. Here's a better picture and one beside a CF

That looks like the stone that was on the lower right of the picture - I believe he was asking about the one in the lower *left*, which is a much larger stone in a light wood box.

Ohh sorry. The other left [emoji6] well that one is a rare greenish coticule. A massive stone. No bbw side. Just a massive lump of stone. It's harder then the yellow ones and a bit finer. But it's a coticule for sure. Here it is next to the other greenish one...

    And light slurry...

Coticules produce much smoother, mellower and skin friendly edges. You can actually get them just as sharp as a 12k if you have a hard coti and use a soapy water to finish on.

I use the Naniwa 12k and the Suehiro 20k and find them to give a great sharp consistent edge but a little harsh. I started doing 15-20 X laps on my Escher under running water and the shave is really smooth. Sometimes I will use my Ark black but I need more laps to get the same edge as the Escher. Again a preference in finishing from honing to get it sharp.
