Why does my new coticule feel like I'm honing on gravel?
I just took delivery of a new standard coticule from Ardennes.
It feels nice and smooth when I lapped it and then hit it with 2000 grit paper, but when I run a razor over it - holy is it EVER rough!!! Feels super bumpy / gravelly.
Weird....

What is the edge like after honing? That's probably your best test.

It mated with a Carborundum on it's way to you,,,,

Maybe the 2000 grit transferred into the Coticule, your fingers might not feel the difference, but your edge will,,,

still have to shave test tomorrow. I have a smaller bout from Ardennes and its buttery smooth. * I have a small La Veinette that I bought off easy from a fellow in Holland, but it looks like that has been lost / stolen in the post between Holland and Canada....it was supposed to be here in 6 days and its been 20.... I was really looking forward to trying that.

Hiralau - if that has happened - what's the 'treatment' to fix it???

Lap the heck out of it, them Carborundums don't penetrate very deep,,,,

Seriously,,, there must be a transfer from either the DMT, is it old/worn, or the wet/dry.
Is this the only razor you have felt this with?
