I would use it. Low spots in the middle like that don't concern me. High spots in the middle concern me.
Put some water on it and observe the undercut with a sharp razor. Probably pushes right through that low spot.

Thanked: 7Not sure what to do...
the piece on top I used to "check flatness" was a 6 x 2 dmt C plate. Just laid it flat and checked under a light.
I'll try grabbing a sharp razor for a pass or two to see how it works.
Marshall, was it you who said SiC powder works well on a cookie sheet? I have a granite slab but I like the idea of using a wider cookie sheet more. Sounds cleaner.

Thanked: 3215Yup, check the other side, if the concave side is smooth it is not a problem but if you want to lap it, it will only take a few minutes on lose 60 grit Silicone Carbide.
If it is a used stone and is smooth it may already be smooth and burnished from use.
Try it before you do anything to it.
An Ark edge is completely different than a Coticule, it is keen, crisp, a bit biting, yet smooth. Kind of like a GS20 or film edge, that is almost over done.

Thanked: 3215Alien, don’t know if it is the photo or the bevel and edge were not clean, but your edge looks chippy, (micro chipped). Enlarge the photo with a photo editor.
There is also a lot of deep bevel setting stria on the bevel. Probably needs more time on your middle stone and more on the finisher. The edge will be greatly improved.
How many laps are you doing? 200 is not unusual.
80 will work

This is about the best pictures I can get of the edges and they shave very well. I have seen the little minute teeth I will try to get a picture of those . This is a razor finished on a translucent stone.
