Does this apply to the Glass Stones as well?

Yes that is what the claim is,,, #50303 is the 16k Glass Stone,,, Yes the same one that has been being used by actual people that hone actual SR's for over a decade here on SRP and other places without issues

What is unknown is whether people like myself that bought these way back when have a different grit composition..
Personally I ain't selling mine nor would I probably buy a new one if I ever wear this old one out,

If a was going to buy another super high grit and spend $300+ it would be the Goku 20k it is just a more versatile hone

I'm confused, one (used) has popped up at a very fair price. Am I buying it?

I don't know what to tell you

    Cost ???

Ask the guy when he bought it as the trend here seems to be those of us that own the older ones have no issues

Whether that is the older ones were graded better or those of us that have honed longer are better at it

    Good Luck

It's about US$70, looks OK. Auction expired but another member has made an offer I can't refuse.

If anyone is interested, Maggard has the 30k Glass Stone on sale for $306 and the code ‘11Spring’ will get you another 11% off through Friday. That puts it a couple of bucks below $275 which is about as good a deal as you’ll get on these.

I’d do it just out of curiosity.

MTC Kitchen has it new for $118 I think, so unless that $70 stone is 4mm+, I’d get the MTC stone. And I believe there’s another bonus if you subscribe to their emails which you can immediately turn off in your email app.

Just so you know, 30k isn't very good for razors. I sold mine after passing it around to a few veteran honers.
