Anyone know the grit of this hone? Carborundum No200

I have a SWATY 3 line, but I have started using this more for touch-ups as I think it works even better. I am just starting out with the barber hones so I might not do everything perfectly right, or maybe I do not follow the proper protocol.. but I usually do 4-8 laps on the hone and then 7-10 laps on a balsa strop with CroOx.. Then 20-30 on unlapped linen and 30-40 on leather. (IRS 206 strop)

This works really great for me with razors I have bought shaveready and then dulled either by improper stropping in my first 3-4 months of straight razor shaving or just by shaving a lot with them.

    My SWATY:

I have one of those Aloxite 200 hones, mine feels coarse and gritty. I was wondering if this is normal for these, or if the binder has broken down and allowing the grit to be released.

    Thumbs up

My latest arrival, if anyone (Sham?) knows anything about these please could you let me know? I tried it earlier to correct a frowning blade and with lather the coarse side worked a treat, but for the life of me I cant get the edge to cut arm hair.
    Thanks for looking guys.

Just got this in today. I suck at honing so I don't know if its any good or not. Interestingly, the hone itself says "Pike" with the little stylized "P" symbol on it. Feels pretty darn smooth on both sides, but if I had to vote I'd say the red (bottom) side is the finer grit of the two. With my luck, it's probably not even a razor hone! lol.

at first thank you for posting.
In fact it is a barber hone and fine side is where the brand name is "pike" red side is courser.
try it out and let us know please how it works.

This one seems to be around 1k in grit. You can feel the grit when you rub it and can even see individual particles. Water goes through it like a sieve. When I tried lapping it, I went through 3 sheets of 120 grit and couldn't bevel the edges significantly, nor lap the scratch marks off of it. it is HARD!

    Default Winner 2 sided hone

I like this one a lot. I'd call the white side 8K+ and the brown side maybe 4k. I can slowly sharpen with the brown side, but not put a bevel on a blade. The white side is an excellent finisher.
