THE "NEW " ESCHER
Here are a couple of pictures of what timber tools sent me as thurigans-you will notice that the German instructions still say Escher,I dont claim to know much about Eschers but it works better than the c12,and gives me an edge that I havent gotten without it,for less than $200 it was a great deal. I dont work for them but it was Timber tools that had them

I wonder if they finally bought the brand name Escher to be able to capitalize off of the high standards Escher established back in the day. It is possible for any Thuringian to be as good as or better than an Escher, but Eschers were consistantly high quality while others, especially the new ones, seem to lack that consistancy.

That's "Echter" not "Escher." "Echter" is German for "Real".

Thanked: 1936I've got a couple meuller's & an Echter...they are NOT eschers. Actually, the meuller that I opened is in the low 8k range, definately not finer. I haven't cared to learn it at this time due to the disappointment. The shave off it directly was much worse than off a shapton 8K. I am pretty sure that I could comfortably shave off the Echter if I were to learn it a little better.
