Thread: Can anyone read the stamps on this hone?

    Update. This stone that I have is worthless for razors. I dug out some occlusions and there just seems to be more and more that the eye can't see.

    Sure wish quality control would have been a bit better on this stone.

    Perhaps,It is ohzuku ceiling suita or Osaki ceiling suita with Karasu pattern.
    It may be far softer for razor. Mainly it is suitable for Jito etc

    Don't feel bad about the stone, Your not the only one with one.

    Quality control would be a plus! Can you use it for anything?

    I removed the stamp from mine so i don't have to be reminded of it every time i see it lol

    I plan on trying it as a slurry stone for my Nakayama Asagi that is a GOOD stone. If it's not good for that, then NO, it is not worth a penny for razors. I have PM'd the vendor about this, waiting for a reply.

    if those inclusions scratch your nakayama or release in the slurry....

    You have a good point on the scratches, may try it on a PHIG or just crap can it. I couldn't in my right mind sell it to someone who may try it on a straight razor.
