Default Marbles, what? I hope I don't get shot for this...

So, I figured this was the best place to bring this up. I ran across this image as an item up on u-pay marketed for sharpening straight razors. Never having heard of anything like this I thought maybe some of you guys might be able to shed some light on this.

Norton, Naniwa, Shaptons, PHIG, etc...now Marbles?

I've never heard of it, or even seen anything like it for razors or knives. I think I'd stick with regular old sharpening stones.

They are very common. What do you want to know about them?

Ive seen these things before, work like a barbers hone without flipping the blade, there is some truth to sharpening steel on glass, though I have not had the occasion to try these.

Those were kind of the counterparts to the DE blade sharpeners like the Lillicraps which were also made from glass. Of course they worked differently but the same idea of glass to sharpen.
