    Congrats!

The feeling when getting your first good shave on a self honed razor is really something

If you can, hold on to this blade and keep the edge it got now (just refresh it, don't re-hone it) and go back to it in a few months and see how you've progressed. I would have loved to have tried shaving with the first razor I honed today but unfortunatly that one has left the building a long time ago.

And cudos for not getting hung up in the HHT, to a new honer it really means squat, but if you keep using it you can tune it in and get some advantages of it when honing in the future.

I thought I was pretty good at sharpening knifes.

After spending hours learning to hone razors I find that I'm a lot better at knifes now.

    A nice side benefit.

I'm glad you mention that because I have a couple of nice Kershaw's to sharpen.

I'm so glad I already had my Jnat phase. For that price, it better have been used by Miyamoto Musashi himself.
