I am a beginner and therefore have more questions than answers.

Anyways, I have two very small chips out of my straight edge razor. I think they came about from continuing to use a pretty chopped up strop which was qutie uneven.

The chips aren't big, one can barely see from the poor pictures I took with my phone, but they have to be corrected none the less.

Any tips on how to do it, and what I need? i currently have zero hones. I have a strop which is only good for ruining razors and a balsa board with some green and red paste on it.

    thanks in advance

Coincidentally this is my first ever post so ...Hello!

Had to reply coz funnily enough the DOVO Diamant was/is also my first straight razor and I started out with that same strop, which I presume you got from Larry. My strop is in better shape but I nonetheless managed to land a few nicks on my edge. Having said that they are also very tiny, barely visible to the naked eye. Not sure how I managed this, which is somewhat frustrating. I don't really notice a difference in shaving performance. Perhaps I should purchase one of these inexpensive USB microscopes, take a few pics and have a closer look. Not sure if I should touch it up just yet.

The question is are they more visible than I think they are? Am I obsessing? Is the edge in acceptable condition? I know this sounds stupid but what should prompt me to take action? I'm trying to develop a feel for any adverse effects due to the nicks but I got them so early on and I've barely been shaving a couple of months. I don't really know what to 'look for'. What do the more experienced members think?
