You'd need to lap it and show pictures of it both wet and dry and with slurry. Sizes of the stone suggest it isn't, as often, but not always, Thuringian stones conform to a series of standard sizes, 5 x 1, 5 x 2.5, though there is currently a gigantic example in the Classifieds exceeding 9 inches. Assuming you are the proprietor, this should not be too problematic for you, unless you are awaiting its delivery. Unlapped as such, it could be many things, but my guess would be that it is an artificial stone formerly used on woodworking tools.

It doesn't look like a Thuringian to me. What makes you think it is?

I have slurried the stone and it slurries fast and the color is a light grey, but I want to get together tomorrow with a fellow SRP member and share the experience of gathering the info.

Usually thuringian slurry is white, right now looks like a brick, lap it post new pics, wet dry etc. Enjoy the lapping session!

Shoot one pic from it dry, and with water on the top, it will be much easier that way. Now the slurry cover the whole hone, and we can't see the detals Looking at the slurry, it could be a thuri, but I am a bit sceptical because of the sheer size of it.
