Exclamation $20,000 USD J-Nat Found on Ebay- Seriously...

Here, is a link to perhaps the most outlandish purchase any straight razor enthusiast could ever make. A 20,000 dollar jnat stone. It is beautiful, i will give them that, but 20 grand for a hone? really? At nearly 20 pounds, thats a thousand dollars a pound, for a rock... Without further ado, in all its broken engrish glory, The Link:Japanese natural whetstone monster Too big KARASU Namazu 4565* | eBay

Karasu, from what I know about Jnats (not much) is very rare, and highly prized by collectors. I wouldn't doubt a price tag like that for a 20lb rock.

Check your link, it didn't seem to work....

Here you go. Shipping is pretty steep but who counts when you're spending that amount of cash.

This has come up before. In Japan there are folks who are basically rock collectors who specialize in native honing stones and for these folks that price isn't high at all. They can go way higher than that.

Remember it's all about perspective. A Diamond is just a rock too.

I'll see if I can get a mortgage for it tomorrow. Anyone got a lapping plate for it?
