While the naniwa superstones seem to have an ideal feel when it comes to honing razors I'm pretty sure they were made mainly for honing tools. Plane blades and chisels and the like. So I would think they would stand up well under knife honing. I would suggest doing a search on knife forums and see if there is any feedback on the naniwas. Unless you're sharpening a slue of knives I think it would be fine. Of course lapping before a razor honing session would be advisable but that is a good idea anyway.
