I just emailed the seller, the response I got was "my husband is a glass man by trade, he says the yellow is as smooth as glass"

I was interested in something that seller had. I asked a question and she was honest about it. (didn't know a thing) I didn't buy because my gut told me not to. I hope it turns out to be what your looking for !

When I read these edge of the seat post I always wonder what the best way out would be if it were me. Like.. dear seller,,,,,Does that thing smell like oil ? Oh it does ? well the price you have it set at makes it look like a natural stone can we just call this an OOppps and forget the whole thing. I am not going to be happy with this.

What does that do to buyer rating and who cares really ?

nobody would describe a indian oil stone as smooth as glass. Looks can be decieving so heres hoping we are wrong.

So I email the seller once more, asking for some better quality pics of the stone.
They come back with "here are some better pics of the oilstone (first mention of oilstone), also it says India stone on the side"
They also said "if this isn't exactly what you are looking for we will relist it no problem"
This concludes my eBay hone buying forever. lesson learned, thanks everyone.

I've got a feeling they were fishing for a sucker like me, "silky smooth" India oilstone... I'm glad you all were here to help out, thanks again.

Well actually that worked out pretty good for you! your lucky that seller is relisting the item.

In my opinion you are right, they were waiting for someone like you, who may think this "vintage stone" is worth more than 10$. I bet they did a 2 minute search on "india oilstone", and found out it is not worth than a few pennies. In the end you were lucky that you asked the people here in time, you avoided a bad buy
