    Even softer noviculite is pretty darned hard. But so are steel axe heads and other tool steels. I cant think of the stone that wont dish out over 50 years of use!

    I agree 100%. When I see something like that I wonder who owned it and what did they rub across it to create that wear? I wish that stone could talk! It didn't belong to someone that occasionally sharpened his pen knife. Was it a woodsman that sharpened his ax or a butcher whose knife is his living? How many razors would you wear out to create that wear? Was it among his prized possessions? They obviously used it a lot.
