    Default Another Hone ID thread

I picked this up from a garage sale yesterday for $2 just because I was curious.
It was filthy when I found it but it's been cleaned and lapped now.
It consists of shades of light and darker browns.
It feels quite fine and smooth, and will generate some whitish slurry
Its 6" long, almost 2" wide and about an inch thick.
Just wondering what you guys think it is.
    Thanks Grant

Arkansas? The darker browns could be from an iron deposit. Looks like my ark (that i don't use).

Yep, here's the other side. This side is actually the side which has been subject to all the use.

I can only guess but I think it's an Arkansas.

    Thanks for the opinions guys.
From a guy who has a King 1K, a BBW, a BBW/Coti natural combo, 2 more Coticules, a Norton 4/8 a Naniwa 12K, a Thuringian a couple of barber hones, and a Ch12K this stone may not have a place in the razor progression, still nice to have though.
I can never say no to a mystery hone at a garage sale
    Thanks

    Hi Baldy!
Congratulations. It kind of looks kind of like this one.. keeping in mind not all novcaulite mined in the U.S. came from Arkansas. See if you can rate the performance range of the stone.
