Thanked: 116Who uses what finisher on a regular basis.
I just pulled the trigger on a vintage droescher coticule. I didn't need it but wanted it.
My question to you guys is, how many people here are finishing on an escher, nani ss12k, shapton whatever, jnat whatever, welsh slate, etc etc.
One picture of your preferred finisher would make this thread fun to look at!
I've posted it before but here's my Ozuku Mizu Asagi

Well,
totally out of topic but I do finish on LI, Coti, Hone 1-15 (no idea what are this stones as do not post 75 questions on SRP with subject "Hone ID please)", brown escher and sometimes on C12K. Each steel work differently on each stone(my personal opinion)

I just took this today for no particular reason...but it works.
I use a Naniwa 12K superstore as a finisher because it is the only finisher I have
However, I like the results quite a bit and have tried professionally honed razors that were finished on Eschers, and other sexy stones...and I have tried nothing *I* like better than my Nani 12k edge.
I'm usually the guy that wants to try everything and spend a fortune collecting stuff...this is a rare circumstance that I am actually satisfied with a collection of one

These two finishers are in a tie for 1st Place:
First is the coticule, second is the Shapton 16000.

For me lately it's been the Zulu Grey. I have owned many different finishers (everything except for a JNAT) and can honestly say that thw Zulu is my favorite. It imparts such a smooth edge...If I'm not using my Zulu though, I'd have to say Coticule..

I either use a nakayama asagi, or a shapton 16K.
In terms of bang / buck, the shapton 16K can't be beat imo.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

For naturals I tend to use this Nakayama Maruka Kiita the most.
When a synthetic stone is what I want, the Suehiro Gokumyo 20K is easily the first one I will reach for.
There are many others that could have been used instead of these, but for various reasons, these do see the most use these days.Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....
