Thanked: 26I don't really know too much about coticules. When I was starting in violin making they had just started to get hard to buy, and my friends were in the process of moving through Frictionite to Japanese stones (and I know a few still have almost unused Frictionite stones in the backs of drawers :-)
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I thought it would be interesting to try one, so I got a largish bout (about 2 x 5" ) from TSS that I might use as a travel stone if I can figure out how to work it. And he sent along a quirky slurry stone that seems useful on its own, too! I gave it a spin, and it looks like we'll probably get along OK. It's nothing fancy, but it's mine!
That's my bumpy brass lathering bowl underneath, and a couple of my double ducks.Last edited by mdarnton; 04-11-2013 at 04:27 AM.

Thanked: 28Hey gooser, nice collection of coticules. Is there a way to identify all these special names for coticules, I scored this one along with a Tam O'Shanter/Dalmore Blue combo the other day (After I said that I was gonna stop bidding on everything I see and save for a JNat... fail. but yet I don't feel sad? Lol)
