Call me old fashion but I really like this 8x3" size la dressante.
Note the tiger stripes in pink.

Still in debt to Jon for this stone...love it.

The slurry stone was cut from a larger la grosse blanche. It is very hard so I use it as my go to slurry rubber..
I also cut groves into the slurry stone.

I find its easier on harder stones. I used the edge of my dmt plate to make the grooves.

For those fast coticules I'd recommend the fasticot method. It's like the ellipticot with diluticot, but just staying on the undiluticot side of the circlicot. Of course, you can use nagura on it as well - we call that the Jnaticot method.

    James.
I remember working w/ the guys on the coticule site, and with great kindness, they recommended a way for me to work around an arm injury that makes it a challenge to keep my elbow/forearm level with the stone. The suggestion was to rest my elbow on the side of the tub in the bath. 'Sounds funny, but was really very kind. It then became known as the 'bathicot' method.
