    Default New JNAT,

Hello, I bought this stone from 330 mate on ebay for 24$. Can you please read what kind of stone is? Is hard, fast , I don't think is a finisher, but I did not used to much.
    Thank you

Most likely, it's a Bunchin (文鎮).

    It's Japanese for "paperweight."

If you have a magnifier, look at those inclusions. This stone may not be suitable for razors. I have one of his alleged Shobudani stones, and it's pretty much all toxic lines and inclusions, some of which look like pumice under magnification. Yours may be better, but I'd give the thing a good, close examination under high magnification before trusting it with a razor.

Thank you for your input. I lapped the stone again, there are no toxic spots or inclusions, I run a razor over, and is very smooth. I will check more and let you know.

I can't remember the exact details from the translations but it is basically 330mates trade mark name(Fujibato) and address and so on.
The stone itself could be anything. He sells mostly Nakayama, but who knows what they really are, he picks them up around some mines from piles that lie around.

I know there is a g amble with 330 Mate, I bought a nice Okudo Karasu for 70, from him, is my best finisher to date, so another 24, even if is just a paper weight , it will increase the average a little, RAD is a very tough , I hope you guys will find a cure in the very near future. Best regards

Several years ago I bought one from that seller. What I got was crap and I complained. I gave one opportunity, on the seller's honor, to exchange for one of proper quality. The replacement that I got was of very good quality--so much so that I was quite surprised.
