The first ones looks like an Io. I have a Nakayama Maruichi that looks very close to the second one and is a fine finsher. Sometimes the back of the stone has a distinctive skin that helps to further identify. Maybe Alx or some others will help, I am quite sure of the first one. Good luck.

Thank you, do you have any more info on "Io" or a link for it?
The second stone has been cut (or lapped) in western mode, therefore tha back is like the front.

The second stone looks like the green or gold coloured stones some of us got from Ebay France. They look like coticules but I'm not completely sure they are.

I recently got one of the greenish golden stones from France. What is your evaluation of the hone. I first thought it was the worlds best yellow thuringian hone, but after testing realized it is fine but not quite as fine as a good thuringian.

I have used one a bit a while ago, mine are also fine but not as fine as my Eschers. Sham did some proper testing on a couple.

First one does look like Iyo. 330mate sells them on eBay.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
