Thread: Tweaking the Edge with Tape

Right, so the razor arrived at my door this morning.
Naturally it was what I decided to use for my shave today.
Upon inspection with just my eyes and via a jewellers loupe I saw no flaws or things not supposed to be there.
Perhaps the tiniest hint of a really small micro-bevel, but the light may have thrown me a bit.
The resulting shave was wonderfully smooth and clean.
No complaints on that edge from me.
Absolutely not!Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Thanked: 3164Well, that is an improvement. Usually I am described as a six letter word, but only the first two letters are the same as in 'wag'
As Rolf would say - 'can you guess what it is yet?..' DOH! Too soon, too soon... my whole stack of Rolf jokes along with my Jimmy Saville impressions and love of Gary Glitter - all gone, all gone.

Who wouldn't want to have a second face to shave?
My father was an engineer. He used to tell me that sharpening a straight razor is like trying to build a ladder to the moon out of a roll of aluminum foil.

Just checking in to see if anyone else has tried this (you do remember the original reason for the thread...please..)
What made me chime in was todays shave was one of those "Moon and Stars, Clouds and Rain" great ones and of course I checked my notes and it was a razor that I had given "The Zowanda Treatment" - and top it off it was Clubman Friday...
I'm tempted to go to a one or two razor rotation and see how long this edge holds up...
Please let us know if you have tried it and how it worked for you.Support Movember!

Thanked: 246I have been honing my razors with this exact same method for quite a long time now, but I have never posted about it because of the exact thing that happened in this thread! Lol. Don't need the drama. It works! Been doing it this way for years.
