An learning was what I was trying to do until you replied as though I was stupid as you still are with your comment about "spoon feeding" an I will in no way be talked to as though I am stupid by anyone even an admin if that's what you are since you told me to watch my luck!!!!

You also just stated that it's "based on the learner" which means I may learn things faster or slower than others so you have no clue what I have learned an my hard work an others hard work maybe different for learning!!!!

An the razors an knive do come into play because they are a learning process(work)!!

If I had a lack of curiosity I wouldn't have asked anyone as for my "destructiveness" it was a simple mistake about a piece of Sh** razor an it offended Someone boohoo! Also if I wasn't interested in a community I would have done all this alone I wouldn't have joined an I wouldn't have asked the question I did!!!!!

Last but not least you know nothing for a fact about me!!!!!!!!

It's OK, there are many people who struggle with homophones beyond grade school not because they can't learn.
But most people who have seen and used a straight razor and a strop for two years do not think that stropping edge first should be OK because 'the strop should be flat'.

    Your words, not mine:

So I misread his reply.an thanked him for it I'm sorry, I didn't realize human error was unacceptable her I saw strop an hone and didn't notice the placing of the two in the sentences I was doing more than just thanking people today.

Now instead of judging since you're an admin why not try helping instead of condescending since I said I understand an you claim I didn't (insinuating you know what I know or have learned) I didn't ask the question to get a doctorate in the subject but to understand the why.
Doing it an then using the razor only gives you physical an visual knowledge. The razor doesn't get up an say hey that's wrong an this is why. An that's why I asked the question.

So go back and reread my post then, read it slowly and this time instead of dismissing it outright pay attention to it. You may find out that it's helpful because it
    (1) tells you that empirical evidence is the foundation for all learning
    (2) points you to very specific academic paper where you can get the foundation necessary before you can even think about the processes that differentiate edge leading and edge trailing honing
    (3) notes that you are likely not interested in understanding a doctorate level problem, and even if you are you can only understand it by performing the necessary work for understanding at that level. Even if I give you the framework and equations that explain it unless you already understand the basic language anything I say will be gibberish to you.

As I said, you seem happy with your understanding, so what else do you expect?
If I am right and there is more to it you can try to follow the path that I said will lead you to it. Or you can make your own like the rest of us when we're dissatisfied with what we know and others' explanations. I've walked it for myself and even if I walk it again you'll remain exactly where you are until you decide to move yourself.

It's funny you try to use big words still implying that I'm stupid an in doing so you again prove your a pompous blow hole because twice in your own post in which you tell me to go read it states that I can only learn by doing. #1( empirical evidence ) #2 Is and I quote"notes that you are likely not interested in understanding a doctorate level problem,an even if you are you can only understand it by performing the necessary work for understanding at that level.

I also didn't come here uneducated in the arts of using a straight razor I alwayss do academic research into anything I'm interested in Guns, Cars, Motorcycles, knives(mostly butterfly) an last but not least straight razors, so I understand the basic language.

You took it apon yourself to judge me as stupid because I dismissed one book. I get it, it helped you doesn't mean it's gonna help me.

An why do I have to follow your path for it to be the right path if everyone did that then we might as well be in a totalitarian society because everyone would be in their respective places and one way of doing things would be enough for all without question!! An then no one would try to learn anything which really seems to get you ********!!!

It seems I made another mistake it's the thinking for yourself an doing things your own way that gets you ********! Because it's not your way it's wrong! You must be a Metallica fan " you can do it your own way if it's done just how I say!!!"

I think most people understand that we should behave as if we are guests in someone else's house.

    I agree Utopian.
I've been watching this & there has been a lot of unnecessary rudeness from someone wanting to learn but won't listen to what is being said & this forum doesn't need that!
