    I just picked up a what would be known as a probable MST Thuringian type stone. It is in the 8-9k range I would say and does a decent job. I would say however I will always finish on my Naniwa 12K because I think it is more to getting the edge super slick smooth. I think the new age Thury as I like to call it may be a nice stone to set up the 12K but then again I have Norton 8k that is just as great at that.

    Hey, the Thuringians are getting rarer by the month. If you ever get to lay your hands on one you might want to pony up the money and get it. I know I will.

    I'm not gonna say they are cheap nowadays but a couple of years ago they fetched higher prices on ebay.

    In the end i bought naniwa 8k and 12k.
