Thanked: 4206The hearty CDN whiskers took their toll no doubt. Was a wee tuggy when it left my den.
Tom's loupe showed a wee issue on the heel of the Gilchrist as well and in true Texas style he offered to true it up for me while he had it. Clearly I don't use the heel of the blade much as what was there would have been felt against the skin.
Time for a Friday shave then off to see my daughter perform

Thanked: 38I got this SR Drescher from the German bay about a year ago. It had a visible chip in the heel. I've discussed this blade in other threads. Three times I have killed the edge, thought I set a bevel, and finished on my coticule. Each time I shaved, I was severely disappointed and finished the shave with the daily driver. Not so today...
Reset the bevel on the King, honed on the Belgian with milk slurry diluting to water, finished on the coticule with 150+ x-strokes on water. I now know what weight of blade pressure feels like. Here's the proof...
So smooth. I've had edges provided by Glen and Vasilis. Maybe not quite like their's, but close. And this one was mine...

Honed up this GEORGE WOSTENHOLM & SONS rattler last night.
As always , Sheffield steel is a doddle to hone up.
Its my brothers but before I hand it back I'm gonna shave over a weeks worth of growth off with it.
This might just call for the Acqua Di Parma treatment
