Honing by candle light. Now that would really be retro!

Ouch.... Hope all is well out your way.... That weather is arriving here tonight/tomorrow. I think we'll miss the worst of it, but we could get caught by lake effect snow instead.

    Stay warm!

    Thumbs up

Two of the pretty ones on the hones today

Frederick Reynolds Rattler Grind (Camel Bone) - finished on a Select Grade Coticule

Randall Hall & Co Sheffield 1/4 Grind (Honey Horn) - Finished on a Charnley Forest stone using Smith's honing solution instead of Oil

Some old razors give me a chance to go all-natural off the bevel-setter with my limited abilities.
I figure this old Pitchford to be one.

Going off the 1k Norton to Gnomestone, Ferrarelli's old Coticule to Escher tonite. Slurry galore!

    Here goes nothing!

You guys should see the additional pictures of that F. Reynolds on Glen's Face Book page.

Glen did an amazing job on that hunk of ebay rust with broken scales I sent him! I can't wait to give it the ol' shave test here!

The other one, the Randall Hall, was originally restored by Traveller.... Unfortunately, I broke the scales with rough handling. Glen made some beautiful horn scales as a replacement, and fixed her up pretty!

For my 60th birthday, it looks like I'll be shaving in style! <grin>

You went and got a camera? That was very nice of you to share that. Considering the time of year and where you live I would of been tempted to fill a meat locker with a few those lovely Elk. Winter has to be long up there
