A few generations of pristine C Mons today, a 6/8 Ellicotteville Blackie and a 5/8 PJM German Special.
1k Naniwa to a gentle pyramid of 4/8 Norton. A bit of Naniwa 12k will bring them to the blue-green Escher.

I haven't been able to over-cook an edge on my arks even with hundreds of circles, back and forths, x-strokes etc., even with considerable torque on the edge-it just seems to keep getting better.
The WD40 use is on my radar for next touch up. Lots of variables. Including my skill or lack of it The edge dry is very usable. I have been enjoying my shaves. But there is room to improve it. Love the quest. Ken

I pulled out my Mappin and Webb 7-day set that I had honed over a year ago before I knew much about honing, and checked them. Found a few chips and shiny spots on the edge. Had to go back to the 1K on a couple and touch up on most. Now they are Really ready for a trip! If I ever take another trip. Ha.

A couple have cracks at the pins in the Ivory scales but they will stay that way until I learn a lot more.

Boy that Smiths gives a good feel with less mess? WD on a hone has always been messy for me.
    But then I am lazy!

Neat set, Gasman. I have one I have done nothing with...Brookes and Crookes!
    Good honing challenge coming up.
    Just what I need!

    Thanks, Jerry!

You know you will enjoy the time with them Tom. I have to admit that after I got 5 done I had to take a long break. Too much at one time can be hard.
