Thanked: 351I'm about to enter the fray of Jnat ownership. I have selected a hone and it should be on it's way shortly.... I cannot speak to it's capability yet, but based on the back and forth discussions I've had with Garret, I'm pretty darn sure I'm going to be happy with this "hunk o' rock".

More of a last kick at the cat sort of thing!
I included a basic 3 piece set: Botan, Mejiro and Tenjyou, just to play with.
I'm also getting a diamond nagura. I could have used one of my diamond plates, but the smaller diamond nagura, seems more suited to the task. I'll be posting more pictures when I get it in house and start playing with it.
As others have stated before me, choosing a dealer is far more important, than the stone itself. I did not have much to spend, and I'm in awe of some of those jnats out there, at their multi thousands of dollar prices, but I'm sure that what I ended up with will be very suitable for my purposes. The fact that it's nice to look at, was an unexpected bonus!

Had to remove a sizeable chip out of this Joseph Rodgers, took a loooong time on the Chosera 1k.
2 layers of tape, left a wide but even bevel. After that pretty straightforward, onto the superstone 5k, test shave after the 10k, very nice so then onto 10 super light laps on the Gok 20k. Job done
