I hope the pics turn out

A really nice Hesse - Professional that was abused with a low grit cutter most likely a Diamond plate for a bevel set, I think I captured it pretty good in this pic..
Look just above the bevel you can see the deep scratches that the heavy grit left there, this caused the edge to fail rather quickly, and left a harsh tuggy shaver

Reset the bevel on a Chosera 1k killed it lightly, and repeated went Chosera 5-10 then went to my Blue/Green Escher started with a light slurry, I really took my time bringing the final edge out, as I wanted to make sure I got rid of the "Steel Abuse" this sweet razor was subjected to

Great picture of what a diamond plate can leave behind.
More reason than ever to take my time on a proper bevel set.
Your only as good as your last hone job.

I must have done that when i was cleaning the threads the last time i took it apart not a problem though as I never tighten the stone down it's basically a holder no need to secure the stones when honing for me.

Yeah I think you may be right the rubber end section as counter sunk washers so the flat end of the screws would push them in flush so it looks like they are correctly fitted.

Because of you I bought in to a GS 20K. Hone holders can even be uneven, I had to sand down the center piece of rubber to get to true flat with a hone holder.
Screws and washer are the least of my worries. Thanks for sharing and for guidance with Synthetics. Soon I will show pics of my normal progression.
Your only as good as your last hone job.
