Glen, I understand from what I have read that the "crushed" slurry is made by rubbing the hone with the slurry stone, but dry with no water. Is the crushed slurry used dry or do you add water after the dry crushed slurry is made?!?! I'z just wondering....

That was just one of the threads Christian

There were a couple more. I use it wet myself, I raise a light slurry with my DMT them take the Coticule Rubber and and sit there for a few minutes in the same spot with the objective of working that slurry in one spot and mashing the Holy Heck out of it, not making more slurry

Thanks Glen, I was kind of curious about the whole thing. I did try it on a Belgisher Brocken hone I have here... but I used it dry and it just didn't seem right. I take it "mashing the Holy Heck out of it" is some sort of technical term?

That's pretty interesting. Why do you start with a dmt? Someone once mentioned that the garnets in coticules could frature when the slurry was created with a diamond hone. Is that what you are going for?

And after creating the "crushed slurry" do you finish on slurry or do you go to clean water?

Today's hone of the day is a pretty common one for me. Same old keen kutter with brutal spine wear. I used the coticule geezer sent me a while back. I'm learning it slowly. Not a fast coticule, but she sure is reliable. Set the bevel on some milky slurry. Diluted until I felt it was right and then added a layer of tape. The HHT off the stone was good.

A catch and pop but when I stropped the HHT didn't get that much better. Usually I'll go back and do some more water only but I didn't feel like it. It felt nice and grabby on the TPT and the strop. I test shaved tonight and was rewarded with a truly special coticule edge. Soft and after the shave it felt like I hadn't shaved at all. I'm glad I stopped where I did.

    I learned a lot today..

Ps. I raise my slurry with a DMT with no issues
