Thanked: 4I guess they are working out. I have no snob rocks to compare them to but they can produce a shaving edge that does not irritate my face along with .5 micron diamond paste on a ZY brand strop. I use heavy lather on the 10K with zero pressure. I am sure I would be happier with the results of a higher grit under a loupe for pure looks of edge smoothness, but maybe my face could not tell any difference.

Well it's great to hear there working I bought the 1/4 8 10 k's do try out. Did you lap the stones?

Honing a gold dollar is not very hard. Grinding the gold dollar to get it to a state where it can be honed is the hard part. The rest just falls under regular honing.
