Thanked: 154Fun guessing game, Onimaru!
Hard to tell from the picture. However I don't use a magnifier and visual inspection to judge a shave-ready edge so it could just be inexperience on my part. I guess it depends on if the razor was polished by stropping; I have seen some pretty rough looking edges that have shaved well after polishing with a strop.

Well the replies bear out what some of us already knew. HHT ≠ Shave ready & microscope pictures are hard to interpret.
I did do a full shave but the shave was completed via other razors I was testing when I got to the tougher stubble , chin etc.
Did it shave ? Well it cut hair but it tugged. Not pleasant at all.
Someone asked. The pic is Omote not Ura tho the ensuing pic of dings is from the Ura
It was finished on a Jnat but the bevels were not quite set. 10 points for those noticing that. I think it's ability to HHT & somewhat shave was forced onto it via the strop, hence the black polished micro bevel looking thingy.
There were some microchips but I couldn't feel them. At that size the strop will take care of them.
What I didn't show was pics of the dinged areas but then it may've been too easy to guess
Nonetheless I wanted judgements on the perceived polished edge.
I'll add one below of the dings plus one of the completed edge.
Any who I took it back to 1k to quickly set the bevel & progressed to Jnat finisher. Final test was positive.
As for the Monty Python question , let's just say we got rid of the bridgekeeperThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 3795And conversely, especially but not exclusively for beginners, a failed HHT does not necessarily mean that a razor will not shave.

Thanked: 3795My favorite is oil on the blade. Beginners often squawk that their brand new razor does not pop hairs without having any clue what the HHT actually tells them or what it means. A perfectly sharp blade that will pop hairs just fine will not do it at all after the blade is oiled.
