Thanked: 3795That's great. I just wanted to make sure that you had something to compare your edge with a (no offense) proper edge.

It will shave arm hair at skin level. Not above skin level and ive never been able to do the HHT. Maybe its my hair, i dont know. Ive just never been able to do the HHT. Even with a freshly honed razor by a Honmiester. Ill give a few passes on water only anf give another shave test. I understand what your saying. Trying to shave with something that you have no idea about how sharp it is sound like a dumb ... move!

Thanked: 3227I've never been able to get an HHT to work for me either. About my only test is at the bevel set stage and that is to make sure the blade cuts arm hair at skin level all along the edge. After that it is all checking with a loupe to see if I am getting all the way to the edge all along the blade at each stage. Then the shave test. Eventually you will find what works for you and what the indicators are for you.

Thanked: 3227You are welcome. Had to learn honing on my own because there is nobody near me so I know how frustrating it can be. If it does get frustrating walk away and come back when you are in a better mood. When it starts to come together I think you will find it very satisfying. Good luck.
