Just something to check.
If that is literally a few hours on any King stone. I would suggest that stone may be "dishing" ie concaving its surface as you hone.
Keep it lapped flat.
I used to restore a lot of eBay razors with Kings & found wedges to be the biggest culprit for dishing the stones.The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
