Im thinking i need to lap my 20k again. Ive got a dirty spot that covers about 1/4 of the stone on one end. And standard lapping doesnt clean it off. Low spot??? So, i will ware out my arm again on this stone. Lapping a 20k is tough! They are so dang hard!
Thanks Marty. I have come a long way in just one weekend off. Im just crossing my fingers that when i get the time to hone again, another week, i will still find this ability and maybe get a little better. The Jnat edge was lacking, but for my first real effort in using the Jnat, im happy. I will step back a little with it and give it a go again. But one thing at a time i think. I need to finish getting the synthetics down to a science and get the same quality edge on a few razors first. Then i will go back to the Natural stone.
Ive been looking at pics of other Jnats. Some sure look colorful. Mine is just gray. Pretty has got to make it better right. It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanks. I paid a lot for the 20k. I even got a great discount on it, but it still damn near gave me a heartatack when i pushed the button on it. Someday someone might sell a.nice jnat at a low cost and maybe i will have some money. Hoping to find a nice size Thuri that way too some day. But for now i will keep.paying off the C.C.bill and use what i have.
BTW, Oz, its nice having you around. As its afternoon for the both of us. I just work nights. Ha. The forum goes.to.sleep.and i can still find you roaming the threads in the middle of the night. Well, night for the US.It's just Sharpening, right?
