I got the time to try out these loaner stones and ...
    I got stickage!
I've honed 5 razors tonight from lots of different starting points and 4 out of the 5 are giving great HHT. The keenness feels to my AHT and TPT are like a 20K edge. Shave test tomorrow. The blade that is not doing as well as the others does have a good sized warp and I think that is what is messing with me on it, But I'm going to test it anyway.

So, YES! Jerry can hone on a Jnat!

Also got word that my stone is much better now. It's giving a nice shaveable edge and a lot of the SU is gone. Not all of it but with the use of thin slurry he was able to make the stone give up its goods. I will be getting it back next week sometime along with a test razor so I have something to compare my edges too from my stone.

So, it's all coming together. Took a while and thanks to all of you for putting up with me thru this. The Asagi stone I'm using now seems to be giving up the better edge of the two stones so far but DAMN that sucker is hard! Makes building slurry a chore with the extremely hard Tomo that came with it. The Kiita is softer but with some finishing laps on clear water, it does very well too. Nice to have a couple different stones to learn and play on.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

Glad to hear your stone is doing better! Hope it keeps that way. Also awesome that you had some time on some other jnats to see how things should feel.

    Just a little update.
These Jnat stones are picky suckers. I'd like to use harsher words to explain how I feel about them but... Just remember I'm a bad mouthed truck driver and fill in the blanks.

Things are coming together now after some more trial and errors. I got my Shobu 100 back and it has lost some weight! It's still more than half its thickness left but it is thinner. The good thing is tonight I spend some time with it. Using different slurry's, pressures and honing methods, and I got 3 edges popping hairs. Not as good as a 20K edge can do, but if the comfort level has come up I could live with that. It's getting better but now its time to put it all away and wait for next weekend. Thank God I keep notes on my log of what and how I did things.

Here is a Pic of my latest Jnat edge for the folks that like to see pics.

Pretty bevel Jerry . Is it reflective of something placed near it ?

Edge looks good. As long as the stone has no more issues you’ll figure out the rest soon enough.

The lighter reflecting spot is one of the LEDs in the scope. I try to keep those out of the pic most the time. Test shave in an hour.

What I'm getting at is that the finer Jnats can produce a "mirror" finish which reflects objects like a synthetic mirror finish but they will still retain the "colour" or haze that is imparted.
