    You can't judge true flatness by looking at the edge, it'll throw you. Do you have a metal straight edge?
    You can pick them up cheap at Home Depot or Lowes, I'm sure. If not, let me know and I'll get you one. The side of the Coticule that's glued to the slate will vary in size from end to end. As long as you usable side is true, your good. Hope this makes sense.....Rich
