    Default selected coticule

My coticule reflects a tinge of, off green colour. Only slight what would it be classed as ie hard or medium etc i'm sure its not soft i do have to create slurry with rubbing stone. Slurry can be obtained fairly easy.

Off green colour coticule? Now you KNOW you'll have to post a picture of that stone.

I've got one green coticule. The other day in a post on bevel setting Bart mentioned that as a rule green coticules tend to be on the hard and slow cutting side. Probably a good finisher. I haven't messed with my green one enough to say how it is beyond that it is pretty and I am glad I have it. It is the third on the right.

All it takes is a credit card and the willingness to run it up. Like they say,"A fool and his money are soon parted".

it is the normal beige cream but the very light vains are slight aqua green they only reflect when light hits it does seem hard but does create a good milky slurry i supose would be fine for maintanance and polishing i have kosher that is pure in colour just speckled yellow seems about same hardness but feels only slightly smoother when i run a razor across the khosher they both seem to do the same job. have you ever used just your yellow with light slurry and then plain water and achieved a nice egde jimmy.

If I was to ask about a purple coticule with pink dots and a slight red shadow Jimmy would display a photo of a almost similar from his collection

Absolutely. As Howard frequently points out, barbers used the coticule for a hundred years and got keen shaving edges off of them.

Sure, the big coticule is the fastest cutter I have out of a dozen. It is a natural and the blue side is fast too. I'm talking with water and no slurry. With slurry it is even more so. The little one is a vintage and I haven't used it enough to say how it is.

    Jimmy,

How big is that coticule??? That little vintage looks like one that I have, and it's about 1 1/4" x 5 1/2". If your's is the same, that big one has to be at LEAST 8"x3".
